Her first professional showbiz job at age 9 as she was Gianna as Gianna in Barney and her Friends. So she was one of many children to have played alongside Barney, the well-known human-like pink dinosaur. Selena was a part of several episodes of seasons 7 and 8 between 2001 until 2003. Interesting fact: Demi Lovato, who was part of Barney's Friends in the same time period as well, worked alongside Selena. Selena Gomez had a few auditions for different series and films following the conclusion of Barney and His Friends. Her auditions did not go well. In 2003, she had an unimportant role in Mini Spies 3: (Spy Kids 3D Game Over) and also she was in Walker Texas Ranger Trial by Fire as Julie. The character of Emily Grace Garcia was assigned to her for 2006's Brain Zapped, for which she composed a soundtrack.
